Tonic Magazine Contributors
Tonic Magazine is Exult’s quarterly publication for the community sector. This hard copy magazine is distributed to 2000 organisations across New Zealand and covers all the issues affecting non-profit organisations including governance, management, volunteering, marketing, administration and fundraising. Focussed on helping small-medium organisations at the business end of what they do, Tonic offers practical how-to advice that can be easily implemented by the groups we support.
We welcome submissions of articles on community related topics. Articles should be:
- 1200-1600 words
- Written in a simple how-to format. Checklists, Top Tips, ‘Did You Knows’ and Sidebars are encouraged.
- The writers own work. Where statistical information is shared, references must be provided.
Before making a submission it is recommended that you send a brief query outlining your idea and how you plan to piece the article together. If it is a topic we would like to see covered (and it hasn’t already been addressed in a recent issue) we will invite you to make your submission. Please note that this does not guarantee acceptance of the article.
Deadlines
Tonic Magazine is published in February, May, August and November. Deadlines for submissions are:
February Issue – 1 December
May Issue – 1 March
August Issue – 1 June
November Issue – 1 September
Completed articles should be emailed to kerri@exult.co.nz as a Word document before the specified deadline.
Themes
Individual issues do not necessarily have a specific theme, but it is useful to keep in mind the time of year and the types of concerns that may be relevant to organisations during that season. Acceptance of your article does not necessarily guarantee publication in the next issue. If more appropriate, articles may be kept for publication at a later date.
No payment will be made for unsolicited submissions or articles written with a view to promote a specific product or service. However, a brief bio of the author and relevant business, plus contact details will be published at the bottom of the article.
Please send any enquiries or submissions to kerri@exult.co.nz
