About Us

Exult - The Organisation

Exult provides training and training resources to the community sector. We provide practical workshops in Sustainable Funding, Fundraising, Marketing, Sponsorship and volunteer related topics. We believe people (and organisations) thrive when they are given real support in everyday language. In a nutshell, we're here to make the tough stuff easier!

In the last 2 years over 2000 people have taken part in our small group workshops, and we are regularly asked to present at conferences and expos around the country. We have developed awesome relationships with community development teams throughout New Zealand, and as a result get to work with groups who are at every stage of the development journey.

Our team is not only passionate about the community, we live and breathe it. In 2009 we were finalists in the 'Most Community Minded Business' category of the David Small Business Awards, and in 2010 we plan on taking first place! Kerri was also given the title of 'Community Gem' in the BOP Times Volunteer Series. The BOP Times recently published an article about Exult and how it all began.

Our name means 'to celebrate', and we chose it because that's what we do. We celebrate passionate people, strong communities, and the change that can occur when one person decides to make a difference. Our key products and services include Workshops and Seminars, Tonic Magazine, and The Seriously Good Guide to Fundraising.

Kerri Tilby - CEO

KerriKerri Tilby has been involved in the not-for-profit sector for 15 years, and knows first hand about the trials and rewards of working in this sector. She was raised in a large family with parents who fostered children, provided emergency shelter for abused women, and regularly mentored young people who needed a helping hand. She knows her passion for helping others is thanks to the selfless example which was set by her parents.

Kerri has a background in early childhood education, and has spent many years working with organisations which support children and families. She has been happy to help in whatever way was necessary, and as a result has done everything from selling sausages to managing 6 figure projects. She has worked as a volunteer, an employee, an employer, and a consultant.

In September 2009, Kerri travelled to Mexico where she helped to build houses in the slums of Tijuana. She was so moved by the experience, that in September this year she is returning with her partner and 3 of their 6 children, aged 14, 14, and 12. It's a fairly expensive exercise, so like you, she is fundraising mode!

Exult allows Kerri to combine her experience in teaching, journalism, business and community work. She feels privileged to be able to empower others, and continuously celebrates the passionate people who are creating change in our communities.

Tracy Stockman - Office Manager

Tracy's role is to bring it all together and to make sure everything ticks over like clockwork! It is Tracy who answers your queries, registers you for workshops, sends out resources, books venues, updates the website, and generally makes sure the place doesn't fall down. We couldn't survive without her.

Tracy brings has over 20 years administration experience, including 10 years in management. Her early years were spent in the insurance industry and property investment market, and more recently she has enjoyed being a part of the not-for-profit sector.

Auckland was Tracy's stomping ground for many years until moving south to Christchurch when a work opportunity arose. After living in the mainland for 7 years, the time came to move north again and the sunny Bay of Plenty was the obvious choice! It was here that her passion for not-for-profit started after securing a position at the local Riding for the Disabled.

Initially Tracy was employed as the Funding Officer, and then took up the role as Operations Manager as well. The roles included setting up procedures in all areas of the organisation, and working towards a position of on-going sustainability and compliance.

In her spare time Tracy loves to spend time with her husband and two children and is in the middle of a mamoth home renovation!

Pixie Harford - Advertising and Sponsorship

Pixie's role is to connect businesses with opportunities that exist within the non-profit sector. She is responsible for making our 'Fundraising Directories' page as comprehensive as possible, so that both businesses and organisations get maximum benefit. She doesn't just look for 'advertisers', she looks for people who genuinely have something to offer the community sector. That way it's win-win for everyone involved!

Pixie has lived in Tauranga for 10 years and has two beautiful sons aged 16 and 7. She has degree in counselling and plenty of experience in the non-profit sector. In her spare time Pixie is an avid yarn crafter - knitting, crocheting and dyeing yarns. She loves reading in the sun and can spend hours surfing the net.
