Pizza Oven Giveaway

I love it when businesses do promotions that give prizes to deserving people and charities. Yes I know it's not entirley philanthropic - I understand that there is something in it for them as well - but why shouldn't there be? What goes around comes around!

This month it's a huge 'Well Done' to the team at Sun Media. They have a promotion running on their news site www.sunlive.co.nz giving away 20 Pizza Ovens to deserving people or organisations.

If you think your organisation desrves a Pizza Oven, or you know of someone who does...check out this link http://www.sunlive.co.nz/16801a1.page and nominate them online.

They may even cook you a pizza if they win.

To Shake Your Hand

As I sat at the traffic lights this morning, I watched a group of five teenage boys greet each other. They were kind of rugged looking (for want of a better word), caps on and jeans round their behinds - but no gang colours or paraphanelia as far as I could see. Two of the boys had been waiting on the footpath, and the other three had crossed the road to meet them.

As the two groups met every member shook hands with the others, and greeted each other with a 'man-squeeze' kind of hug. I sat and watched them interact and mused to myself how we often we dismiss young people as being aloof and direspectful of others. These boys quite clearly had respect for each other, and I thought how nice it would be if 'grown-up's' met each other with the same level of greeting.

What we can learn from the young.
